2014 Alumy Creek Angus Bull Sale Results
In traditional Alumy Creek Bull Sale fashion the dry sunny mild winter weather we had been experiencing suddenly became winter on the morning of this year's Bull Sale. It was cool (but not cold) and the skies opened up for another wet sale. A good crowd of hardy buyers inspected the bulls with a consistent comment on the quality, muscling and temperament of the bulls on offer. A good mix of repeat and new buyers attended and phone bid. Bulls sold to a wide area across northern NSW and central Qld. Top price of $9000 for Lot 3 NKEH43 an outstanding heavily muscled Connealy Final Product son weighing 890 kg and Colin's pick of the draft. He was purchased by Tigrigie Cattle Co Taroom Qld who put together a very good draft of 8 bulls for a $4700 average. Repeat buyers also attended from Grafton in the east, Tamworth and Barraba in the west and Wandoan and Taroom to the north as well as local Tenterfield and Warwick areas. Several bulls went into stud herds. 4 bulls were passed in with a sale average of $3975 up some $500 on last year's sale. The general comment post sale was the value buying for the quality of the bulls on offer. Given the tough seasonal conditions and poor cattle prices producers have dealt with recently, we were really pleased with the result and support and shown on the day. Thanks to all bidders and successful purchasers on the day and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
